CACN, or Chinese American Culture Night, is an annual production work $35,000+ held in UCLA's Royce Hall. The entire production is student made, down to the script writing, acting, casting, marketing, stage ninja-ing, merchandise designing, and more. Every year's message is different, and addresses important topics that directly impact Chinese diaspora. In 2022's production, The Roots Beneath Us, the storyline follows three generations of women as they reel from the impact of the model minority myth and learned complacency in the midst of political turmoil.
